Disney Launches Free NFTs for Disney+ Subscribers

Walt Disney Co has launched a new benefits program for Disney+ subscribers, offering free monthly NFTs. In partnership with Dapper Labs, the program grants users access to the Disney Pinnacle platform, where subscribers can claim a “mystery capsule” NFT each month.

The initiative will also be extended to Hulu subscribers later this summer. Disney Pinnacle provides an ongoing experience featuring discounts, exclusive digital items, and collectible NFT pins inspired by traditional Disney memorabilia.

The NFTs will be distributed to more than 150 million Disney+ subscribers globally. The collection is powered by Dapper Labs’ Flow blockchain. Although crypto wallets are not initially required to access collectibles, the platform's terms indicate that users must use a Dapper wallet or another compatible wallet to store, trade, or purchase NFTs.

Transactions are conducted in fiat currency, though blockchain-related fees may still apply. This is not Disney’s first foray into Web3; previous initiatives include NFT collections via VeVe, featuring franchises like Marvel and The Simpsons.
