Ethereum Foundation Announces $2M in Research Grants for 2025

Ethereum Foundation continues to support academic research by announcing a new round of grants worth $2 million for 2025. This initiative is part of a broader effort to foster innovation in the Ethereum ecosystem, providing funding for research in key areas such as cryptography, security, and consensus protocols.
The Academic Grants Round was launched in 2023 and has seen increasing global interest. The 2024 edition attracted 300 applications from 25 countries, and for 2025, the foundation aims to expand participation even further. Applications are open to both established researchers and early-career academics, with the condition that all results must be publicly accessible.
The grants are not intended for projects related to financial products or token launches. Instead, the foundation seeks research that benefits the entire Ethereum ecosystem. Proposals will be evaluated based on their potential impact, clarity, and alignment with Ethereum's goals.
Through this initiative, the Ethereum Foundation aims to drive blockchain innovation, provide academic support, and promote open-access research.
