Fake Trump YouTube Live Promotes Bitcoin Scam with Deepfake Video

Several YouTube Live videos have featured a deepfake of U.S. President Donald Trump promoting a supposed Bitcoin doubling campaign. The videos appeared to show Trump at a NATO summit in the Netherlands on June 25, asking viewers to scan a QR code and send Bitcoin to a specified address with the promise of receiving double the amount in return.
These clips were not shared by any official channels, and no credible media outlet reported the president's involvement in any Bitcoin-related giveaway. While some videos have been removed, many are still online, attracting thousands of views. The audio and lip-syncing in the videos appear realistic but are AI-generated.
Cybersecurity experts warn that such scams using deepfakes and YouTube Live streams are becoming increasingly common in the crypto world. Scammers often exploit the likeness of high-profile figures to trick investors into sending funds to fraudulent wallets. The use of advanced AI technologies makes these deepfakes harder to detect, posing growing risks for unsuspecting users.
