Pakistan Appoints Former Binance CEO, CZ, as Crypto Advisor

Former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has been appointed as a strategic advisor to the Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), according to a statement confirmed by Pakistan’s Ministry of Finance. The decision, initially reported by Bloomberg on April 7, marks a significant step toward the regulation and adoption of cryptocurrencies in Pakistan.

In his new role, CZ will collaborate with the Ministry of Finance, the State Bank of Pakistan, and the Securities and Exchange Commission to support the development of digital infrastructure and crypto asset regulations.

Finance Minister and PCC Chairman, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, stated that this appointment sends a clear message about Pakistan’s openness to innovation.
Zhao held official meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Deputy PM Ishaq Dar. In his statements, CZ highlighted the digital potential of Pakistan’s youth, noting that over 60% of the country’s population is under the age of 30.
