PayPal Debuts Multi-Crypto Checkout with PYUSD Support

PayPal has announced the launch of a new crypto payment tool aimed at merchants in the United States. The new service allows payments in over 100 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and major stablecoins. The system is designed to facilitate international transactions by automatically converting cryptocurrencies into PayPal’s own stablecoin (PYUSD) or fiat currency at checkout.
The tool is integrated with popular digital wallets such as MetaMask, Coinbase, and Binance. The transaction fee is set at 0.99%, lower than traditional credit card fees. For now, the service is not available to businesses based in the state of New York.
Alex Chriss, CEO of PayPal, stated that the initiative aims to reduce costs and complexity for businesses operating globally.
