SpaceX Moves $153M in Bitcoin, First On-Chain Activity in Three Years

SpaceX, the space exploration company founded by Elon Musk, has executed an on-chain Bitcoin transaction worth approximately $153 million. According to data from Arkham Intelligence, a wallet associated with the company transferred over 1,300 BTC to a new address, marking the first recorded activity from this wallet in three years.

The wallet labeled as belonging to SpaceX still holds more than 6,900 BTC, valued at around $810 million at current market prices. The exact reason behind the transaction has not been disclosed, but analysts believe it could be a reorganization of storage infrastructure rather than a move to liquidate.

Currently, according to Arkham reports and Q1 2025 financial data, Tesla and SpaceX together hold approximately $2 billion in Bitcoin. Tesla alone reports holdings of 11,509 BTC. Both companies acquired their Bitcoin at an average price of around $32,000 per unit, and are currently sitting on unrealized gains of approximately $1.5 billion.
