Ubisoft Embraces Blockchain with New Game Launch

Ubisoft, known for AAA franchises like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry, is expanding into blockchain-based gaming. The company launched its first blockchain game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, marking a strategic shift towards games offering players true ownership of digital assets.
Blockchain technology enables in-game items, characters, and achievements to be securely owned, traded, and sold, with all transactions recorded on the blockchain for enhanced security. Ubisoft partners with Immutable, using zkEVM technology to ensure fast transactions and low costs, enabling a scalable and efficient gaming experience.
This move comes amid rapid growth in the blockchain gaming market, projected to reach $65.7 billion by 2027. Despite mixed responses from gamers, Ubisoft continues to invest in this field, seeing blockchain technology as essential for the future of the industry.
