Vatican Bank Denies Links to Fake Vatican Chamber Token Scheme

The Vatican Bank, officially known as the Istituto per le Opere di Religione (IOR), has denied any involvement with a fake crypto project called Vatican Chamber Token (VCT). According to Cointelegraph, the project promoted a phishing website claiming to offer access to the "Vatican Chamber of Trade," an institution that does not exist.
The website even displayed the real phone number of the Vatican Bank and stated it was accepting new members "for the first time in a generation," offering supposed benefits such as private investor introductions, custodial services, and access to a VCT token presale.
A Vatican Bank representative confirmed to Cointelegraph that the project is a scam and that the bank has no affiliation with it. The investigation also revealed that a fake link referring to the "Vatican Chamber of Trade" was recently added to the bank's Wikipedia page, flagged as vandalism.
Authorities warn the public about the risk of fraud and remind that the Vatican Bank does not engage in cryptocurrency projects or token sales.
